Campers entering GRADE 1 practice storytelling and develop foundational writing skills at Adventures in Writing Camp!

Rising first graders develop confidence!

Credentialed teachers introduce story concepts like “beginning, middle, end” and “setting, character, problem, resolution” through music, games, videos and technology. Each cohort of rising 1st graders will work with a dedicated credentialed teacher to create a group eBook. Rising 1st graders who are ready to create their own independent e-books may register for the elementary school program as 2nd graders.

Common Core, Uncommon Approach

Adventures in Writing Camp’s 1st grade program helps beginning writers to develop storytelling skills, teamwork, and a love of writing.

The belief that all students need to be effective communicators, collaborators, critical thinkers, and creators guides all learning activities. Lessons are sequenced to build upon prior student knowledge, and structured to allow teachers the opportunity to meet varied student needs.
